Robin Propper 'ready' to make Rangers debut against Motherwell

Rangers' latest signing Robin Propper is ready to make his debut.

The 30-year-old defender arrived at Ibrox on August 1, but a mix of visa complications and a lack of training meant the Dutchman wasn't in the match day squad to face Heart of Midlothian in the Scottish Premiership opener last weekend and he failed to feature from the bench during the UEFA Champions League qualifier against Dynamo Kyiv on Tuesday.

Propper insists he's been prepared to represent Rangers, should manager Philippe Clement call on him, since arriving in Glasgow over a week ago, having completed a full pre-season program with his former club.

And with Motherwell's visit to Hampden Park marking the Light Blues' first match at their temporary home ground, he's eager to experience a large Rangers continent cheering them on after hearing all about their passion from his new teammates.

"Yes, I did all my work at FC Twente in preparing for the season," the centre-back revealed.

"I think five or six weeks with some friendly matches so I think I am ready and can play.

“The players told me all about the fans. It’s a big stadium (Hampden Park), it’s not Ibrox I know but still it is a big stadium and I hope I can see a lot of fans cheering on tomorrow.”

Propper has been a keen spectator in the meantime and reckons the Scottish game is a lot quicker than what he was used to at FC Twente and Heracles in the Netherlands.

This Rangers experience will be the first time the player has piled his trade out with his homeland.

"It’s nice to see what the difference is in Holland compared to here," he explained.

"I am new so I’m learning what to do to become a player in the first squad.

"I think it’s a lot quicker, the passes in front and you have to realise it’s not building up very easily. Sometimes in Holland, you have more time. So you have to be ready for that."
