Belguim boss Roberto Martinez has thrown his hat in the ring amid the ongoing transfer saga regarding the future of Romelu Lukaku. The 28-year-old has been heavily linked with a move away from Chelsea this season, and his national team boss has reached a verdict ahead of the Nations League fixtures.
The striker has struggled to acclimatise to the Premier League upon his return to Chelsea in the summer from Inter Milan. He's found the net just 17 times in 44 appearances this season and his overriding misfortune in front of goal has often seen him relegated to the bench
While Lukaku may have worked his way back into Tuchel's in the latter stage of the campaign, doubt continues to be casted over his future having failed to help the Blues narrow the gap with Manchester City and Liverpool. He has been linked with a return to the Serie A, with both Inter and AC Milan seemingly keen to court his interest.

But, having returned to the international stage, the Belgium boss has told him how to go about his business. Speaking in the press-match press conference ahead of their clash with Netherlands, Martinez said: "We have not spoken about his future, but what is certain is that he really wanted to come back and play for the national team.
"I haven’t spoken to Romelu about his future, but he will handle the situation well because it is not the first time it has happened to him in his career."
Then, when asked whether Simone Inzaghi's side could be a destination this summer, Martinez replied: "Regarding a possible return to Italy, I don’t have enough information to comment on the subject."
The £59m-rated striker has reportedly agreed upon a salary with Inter ahead of a potential loan return to Italy this summer as the Blues issue a short deadline to the Belgian's agent to get the deal wrapped up. football.london understands that the striker has asked his lawyer to check the possibility of a possible return to the San Siro, less than 12 months after making the move from Milan to London.
football.london also understands that the Belgian wants to hold talks with Todd Boehly and the higher-ups ahead of making his final decision. Whether or not these talks have happened or not seem to have had no impact on the striker who reportedly wants nothing to do with current manager Thomas Tuchel 'anymore' according to the latest Italian reports via Sport Witness.
"I think if he plans to talk with the owner, maybe it is not his plan to talk with me. It's fair enough. Let's see if he gets a meeting! It is his right. We will talk to anybody," Tuchel said on Lukaku ahead of the FA Cup final. "We will evaluate any situation of any player, including Romelu. We will see what is going to happen and what the plans are."
