Roberto Firmino and Trent Alexander-Arnold absences explained for Liverpool against Norwich
Jurgen Klopp made seven changes to his team to face Norwich after the Reds had battled to a 2-0 win over Inter Milan in midweek.
Roberto Firmino had come off the bench to replace Diogo Jota at half-time in the San Siro but was ruled out of Liverpool’s clash with Norwich due to a muscle injury, raising doubts over his fitness for next weekend's Carabao Cup final.
His absence allowed Luis Diaz to make his second start for the Reds and the Colombian rewarded Klopp’s decision by getting on the scoresheet in the 3-1 win.
There was also a rare start for Joe Gomez at right-back as the 24-year-old replaced Trent Alexander-Arnold in Liverpool’s backline.

'What a player' - Tim Sherwood left stunned by impact of Liverpool star in Norwich win
Luis Diaz won plenty of plaudits for his performance against Norwich as he continued his seamless transition to the Premier League.
The Colombian arrived on Merseyside from Porto last month and scored his first goal for the Reds against the Canaries, dinking the ball over the head of keeper Angus Gunn.
And former Tottenham boss Tim Sherwood was the latest pundit to be won over by Diaz, labelling him the best player on the pitch on Saturday.
"Luis Diaz, what a player this kid is. I mean, absolutely fantastic,” Sherwood said on Sky Sports’ Soccer Saturday during yesterday’s triumph at Anfield.
