Roberto Carlos believes Trent Alexander-Arnold and Andy Robertson are among the best full-backs in the world as the duo prepare to line up for Liverpool in the Champions League final against Real Madrid tonight in Paris.
But while former Madrid left-back Carlos has admitted his admiration for the Liverpool duo, he doesn't think they'll be on the winning side come the end of this evening's huge match as his allegiances lie with the Spanish giants.
The Brazilian also likes to keep up to date on compatriots Alisson Becker, Roberto Firmino and Fabinho, who are all key players for the Reds, along with Thiago Alcantara, whose father Mazinho, like Carlos, was a World Cup winner with the Seleção.
Carlos told the Mirror : "Alexander-Arnold is one of the very best full-backs in the world right now," he said. "And the same for Robertson who is so well qualified in his position and has such good ability on the ball. He is such a great reference point for the team."
On Liverpool's Brazilian trio and Thiago, Carlos added: "I watch all the games and I'm really proud of [the four of] them.
"I'm very happy that the Liverpool fans have a lot of love for the Brazilian players, it is a very good thing to see. They have this opportunity to play in one of the biggest clubs in the world, and it is an honour for them and Brazil."
