The Jets had a few injuries during Sunday’s loss to the Atlanta Falcons, some more serious than others. Head coach Robert Saleh provided an update on some of those injuries Monday.
Two players are heading to injured reserve: defensive tackle Perrion Winfrey (foot) and tight end C.J. Uzomah (MCL). Saleh said both injuries are “extensive”. Winfrey is likely done for the season. He was elevated from the practice squad for Week 13. He played 13 snaps against the Falcons.
Uzomah started the game but suffered his injury very early. He played just two snaps. By going on injured reserve, Uzomah could return for the regular-season finale against the Patriots.
Wide receiver Jason Brownlee has an ankle injury. Saleh was unsure on his timetable for returning. Saleh said he’ll see how the injury is throughout the week. Brownlee went without a catch Sunday in 34 offensive snaps.
