Robert Saleh changing tune, now embracing idea of Hard Knocks

It’s funny how quickly things change. Head coach Robert Saleh and the Jets were pretty adamant about not wanting to be featured on this season’s “Hard Knocks” on HBO. They have now done a complete 180.

The Jets are now embracing the opportunity to be the stars of the summer. Saleh even arrived to his training camp press conference wearing a “I love HK” t-shirt.

Doing “One Jets Drive” over the past five years has given the Jets some familiarity with these in-house documentaries and Saleh said their concerns over Hard Knocks were taken care of.

“Yeah, we’re fine,” Saleh said. “I mean we’ve been doing One Jets Drive for the last couple of years, so it’s just talking with Hard Knocks and they’ve got a great group of people that are working with us and we expressed some of our concerns, they’ve answered it, and it’s going to be fine. No different than One Jets Drive.”

It’s not like there’s any turning back now. The cameras are rolling and the first episode premieres on August 8. So Saleh and the Jets might as well make the best of it.
