Robert Rinder in 'passionate' Prince Harry and Meghan Markle rant on ITV Good Morning Britain while Susanna Reid 'sympathises' with couple

Robert Rinder has shared a 'passionate' rant on Prince Harry and Meghan Markle ahead of their first public appearance since dropping the second trailer for their bombshell Netflix docuseries. On Monday (December 5) it was confirmed that 'Volume 1' of the Duke and Duchess of Sussex's series will air this Thursday (December 8).

A second installment will follow a week later on December 15 and is set to be an 'unprecedented and in-depth' look at the couple's lives after stepping down as senior members of the Royal Family. The second one-minute trailer opens with Harry saying: "It’s really hard to look back on it now and go 'What on earth happened?'"

As videos play of the couple receiving rapturous applause while conducting royal duties as well as announcing their engagement and their wedding in 2018, a news clip voiceover by Piers Morgan says: "She’s becoming a royal rock star". It cuts to Meghan saying "and then" before snapping her fingers with Prince Harry adding: "Everything changed".

And 48 hours before the first three of six episodes of the docuseries are released, Prince Harry and Meghan will be out in public to receive an award for their courage in challenging the Royal Family's "power structure". The couple will be presented with a Ripple of Hope award on Tuesday (December 6) by the Robert F. Kennedy Human Rights association for their "heroic" stance against the "structural racism" of the Royal Family.

Appearing on the latest edition of Good Morning Britain alongside co-host Susanna Reid, Rob ranted: "Now, that's worthy of a human rights award? Surely what you would do is you have the profound and clear and honest humility as a human being, to know that there are real people out there who you should accept the award for, given the real human rights work they do.

"You can tell I feel quite passionately about this. The idea I, or anybody else here would accept a human rights award given what is going on around the world, strikes me at the very least - to use the language of that world - problematic."

Susanna and Rob discussed the latest trailer for Harry and Meghan's docuseries (ITV)

He was later heard reacting to the second trailer showing Prince Harry accusing the institution of "leaking and planting stories", adding: "It's a dirty game." But as they discussed Meghan's racism claims about the Royal Family, TV star and criminal barrister Rob pointed out the "the elephant in the room".

As he sat alongside Susanna, Richard Arnold and Newsweek's Jack Royston, Rob said: "It is right to say, to call out the elephant in the room, this is a white panel. Meghan talks of experiences of racism on Twitter. That's very real. It's also absolutely true of women on Twitter.

"If [the documentary] is going to change the hearts and minds of people on Twitter, which I doubt it will very much, but if it's going to draw attention to that then it has some educational value does it not?"

Susanna sympathised with the royal couple (ITV)

Also speaking on the ITV news programme on Tuesday, Susanna voiced her sympathy for the Duke and Duchess of Sussex shared how she has also endured the 'horrible' experience of being 'followed by the press'.

After seeing the docuseries trailer which features clips of paparazzi around them and also Prince Harry's late mother, Princess Diana, Susanna shared: "I've been in a car and I know there has been a photographer in a car following me." While one of their media panel said those images 'wouldn't be used', Susanna went on: "I understand there’s a remedy after the effect, but what I’m saying is that didn’t stop the fact that it happened at the time.

"If you’re involved in a news story, and I’m not just talking about celebrities, press photographers will be outside of your house. It can be a pretty horrible experience and I think a lot of people watching don’t realise it can be a horrible experience,’ she continued. I just watch Harry and Meghan and that is times a billion. I can see the point they are trying to make, which is it’s actually not very nice to be under this scrutiny relentlessly."
