It has been quite the week already for the Cleveland Browns, who have to proceed with the rest of their season without quarterback Deshaun Watson. After Watson broke a bone in his shoulder in Week 10, the Browns have sought out a veteran quarterback to add to their roster. While Joe Flacco looks like their choice at this point (although he has yet to be signed), former Cleveland quarterback Robert Griffin III has pleaded his case for the Browns to add him to their roster.
Here is what the former Heisman Trophy winner had to say:
“The Browns should sign me as their quarterback, and here is why … at 33 years old I understand the game better than I ever have in my entire career. I know how to slide and I know when to slide … I’ve learned from my mistakes and I am ready to showcase that I can get it done.”
Griffin was the starting quarterback in Cleveland back in 2016, when the Browns went 1-15. He started five games, throwing for 886 yards, two touchdowns and three interceptions. He has not been on an NFL roster since 2020.
It might be time to give it up, Robert.
