Independent candidate Robert F. Kennedy Jr. has successfully qualified for the presidential ballot in New Mexico, as confirmed by the state's elections office on Friday. This achievement marks the eighth state where Kennedy has gained ballot access in his bid for the presidency.
On Monday, Kennedy submitted a total of over 11,000 signatures to the New Mexico Secretary of State's Office, significantly surpassing the required 3,562 valid signatures needed by independent presidential candidates to secure ballot access in the state.
A spokesperson from the office has verified the validity of Kennedy's petition, referencing a list on the secretary of state's website that indicates Kennedy has met the necessary qualifications.
In addition to New Mexico, Kennedy has previously qualified in Michigan, California, Tennessee, Utah, Oklahoma, Hawaii, and Delaware. With the inclusion of New Mexico, he is now eligible to receive 105 electoral votes.
Furthermore, Kennedy has also initiated the petition submission process or completed signature gathering in several other states as part of his campaign efforts.
