Robert Downey Jr's return to the Marvel Cinematic Universe was met with much cheer and applause when the big reveal was made last month at ComicCon. However, it seems that the internet is not too pleased with the actor getting re-cast as the 'Fantastic Four' villain Doctor Doom.

The actor has become the subject of trolling on social media, with fans poking fun at his new role. The online frenzy began when fans started circulating videos and images featuring Downey Jr.'s face morphed on to various iconic MCU characters, including Chadwick Boseman's Black Panther, Chris Evans' Captain America, Chris Hemsworth's Thor and even Scarlett Johansson's Black Widow among others.
