Robert De Niro's grandson was last pictured on social media celebrating Mother's Day with mum Drena De Niro, who spoke of a "good day".
Drena heartbreaking announced that her son Leandro De Niro Rodriguez had tragically died in a statement on July 2.
Just over a month prior, Drena shared a selection of sweet photos of them both enjoying the holiday together watching 1974 comedy Alice Doesn't Live Here Anymore, lounging in the park and hanging out with his dad and family dog.
She wrote: "Mothers Day ~ A Lil bit of Leo Lil bit of Mare , Lots of Sunny & CleoPipa #AliceDoesntLiveHereAnymore Lots of memories of my soulmate ,fur baby Daisy Today was a good day #happymothersday."
Her followers commented on how much the pair look alike, while others wished her a Happy Mother's Day.
It comes after Drena shared a heartbreaking message on Instagram announcing Leandro's death.
She wrote: "My beautiful sweet angel . I have loved you beyond words or description from the moment I felt you in my belly .You have been my joy my heart and all that was ever pure and real in my life . I wish I was with you right now. I wish I was with you .
"I don’t know how to live without you but I’ll try to go on and spread the love and light that you so made me feel in getting to be your mama . You were so deeply loved and appreciated and I wish that love alone could have saved you I’m so sorry my baby , I’m so sorry @carlosmare. Rest in Peace and Eternal Paradise my darling boy."
Drena's friends flocked to share their heartbreak at the news, with one writing: "Drena, oh My God, what has happened?! I love you Drena. Devastated. Let me know what you need."
While another commented: "Drena, I’m so sorry. I have no words, just that we love you and carlos very much and are here for you. Leo ,may peace be upon you brilliant star.Much love from the Greens and Cardanos."
