Robert Cormier has died at the age of 33, his family has confirmed.
The actor was best known for his role as Finn Cotter on long-running family drama series Heartland. His obituary announced he sadly passed away on Friday, but a cause of death is yet to be revealed.
The obituary read: "Robert was an athlete, an actor, and a great brother. He had a passion for helping others and was always looking to achieve more. He enjoyed movie nights with his family, and looked up greatly to his father. He impacted many people throughout his life whether it was family, teammates and friends."
It continued: "Rob's memory will live on through his passion for art and film; as well as his three sisters who meant the world to him."
Following the news of his death, UPtv - the channel which airs Heartland - also paid tribute to the actor on their official Instagram page. It read: "Robert Cormier, aka Heartland's Finn, was an amazing talent, gone too soon. We are deeply saddened to learn of his passing. Our sincere condolences go out to his friends, family, and co-workers."
The official Heartland social media account also tweeted: "We are deeply saddened to learn of the passing of Robert Cormier. He was a beloved member of the Heartland cast the last two seasons. On behalf of the Heartland cast and crew, our thoughts are with him and his family during this difficult time."
Fans also took to the platform to share messages of condolence. One user shared a snap of the star alongside the caption: "RIP Robert Cormier. You were a wonderful actor and a great Finn on heartland."
Another said: "Absolutely crushed to read this this morning, Robert Cormier(Finn) was such a hopeful part of season 15 of Heartland. My heart goes out to his family and all the Heartland cast and fans."
Cormier became a part of the Heartland cast in the 15th season of the show, playing a love interest for Amy. Season 16 is set to air next month and the actor is believed to have continued his role. He had recently posted a pic from on set on his Instagram page and captioned it: "Gettin at it #Heartland #finncotter."
He had also featured in Netflix's Slasher, while having guest appearances on Designated Survivor, Ransom and American Gods. On the big screen, his credits included The Intersection and Transmission: Vol. 1.
He is survived by his parents, his three sisters, his grandmother and his aunts, uncles and cousins.
