Robbie Williams has become the new voice of Felix cat food. The British pop legend has celebrated his love of cats by writing a new jingle for the cat food brand's advert.
The new song will be premiered tomorrow (January 25) as part of a film premiere celebrating our favourite feline pets. In the film, Robbie stars alongside the mischievous Felix.
In the film, the duo try and record the new song with their orchestra. But Felix's antics get in the way.
Speaking about his new role with Felix Williams said: “The cat is out of the bag, I’m the new voice of Felix. I’ve been a long-time fan of cats, I’ve had many feline friends over the years and after studying their fascinating behaviour, I can confidently say, It’s Great To Be a Cat.”
Explaining why he took part in the project, he added: "Why am I sitting here with cats right now? There are many boxes I want to tick in the velvety hallways of showbiz land and one of them is to do just this - write a song for an advert that gets into your head and becomes an earworm."
Fabio Degli Esposti, group marketing director at Purina, which owns Felix, said: “Combining our much-loved FELIX food and treasured Felix-the-cat character, with the one-and-only Robbie Williams, gives us our best recipe yet. The two being mischievous together in their very own film premiere, shows exactly why they’re the perfect fit.”
