A woman who was seriously injured during a Robbie Williams concert in Sydney last week has died.
A spokesperson from Sydney’s St Vincent’s hospital confirmed the woman in her 70s died on Monday after falling down six rows of seating at Allianz Stadium in Moore Park on Thursday evening.
She was taken to St Vincent’s in a critical condition where she was placed in an induced coma.
Guardian Australia is seeking comment from Venues NSW and Williams’ Australian promoter.
Four days ago a fan at a Taylor Swift’s concert in Rio de Janeiro died of a suspected cardiac arrest due to extreme temperatures, as a heatwave moved through much of Brazil.
Swift announced the postponement of her Saturday night concert, saying the safety and wellbeing of her fans, fellow performers and crew came first.
Posting on Instagram, Swift said she was “devastated” by the death of 23 year-old Ana Clara Benevides Machado and “overwhelmed by grief”.
