Robbie Neilson not overly troubled by Hearts' form as he makes 'fatigue' claim

Hearts' troubles in front of goal are not overly troubling Robbie Neilson.

The Jambos have one goal in three and drew a blank over 120 minutes against Livingston on Saturday.

They required penalties to make it through to the quarter finals of the Scottish Cup.

A drop in form has seen them take only one win from their last five and a heavy defeat to Rangers and loss to Dundee have irked fans.

But Neilson insists it is only a blip and has come as a result of tiredness.

“It's part of football where you go through these wee periods like that,” Neilson told the Edinburgh Evening News.

“Like the game against Dundee we have three or four brilliant chances and we just don't take them.

“It’s a matter of freshness as well. You hesitant when you're not quite there.

“We've used the least amount of players this season of all the teams in the league. It’s a lot of games for these guys to play.

“There's going to be some fatigue in there. I've felt it in the last couple of games that they need a break there and need to come back fresh."

Hearts will discover their Scottish Cup quarter-final opponents tonight and Neilson is targeting a Tynecastle clash.

He added: "We would like a home tie, which is the most important thing.

“Hopefully we can get this place full and get it rocking to help us on our way.”
