Robbie Keane posts heartfelt tribute to Christy Dignam

Robbie Keane posted a story on Instagram paying tribute to Christy Dignam following his passing on Tuesday.

The sad news about the lead singer of Aslan was confirmed just before 5pm with a statement from the Dignam family.

Following the tragic news, tributes poured in from across the country as Ireland mourned the loss of the talented artist.

Ireland's record all-time top scorer took to Instagram, posted a picture of Christy captioned: "RIP Christy Dignam. One of Ireland's greatest musicians."

Christy's funeral will take place on Saturday morning in Dublin.
