'Robbed' - Manchester United fans split on France's Anthony Martial decision

Manchester United loanee Anthony Martial has been left out of France's squad to play Ivory Coast and South Africa as Reds-linked Christopher Nkunku got his first call-up.

The omission becomes the latest disappointment for Martial who recently returned to action after spending time on the sidelines. Prior to his absence, he featured in all Sevilla's matches scoring in the Europa League win over Dinamo Zagreb but suffered a hamstring injury against Espanyol, days later.

Despite improving during his short spell in La Liga, his stint away from the squad has seen Didier Deschamps opt to leave out the Frenchman. RB Leipzig's Nkunku received his maiden call-up to the senior squad after his formidable run of form.

Fans were split over the 26-year-old and his absence from the upcoming internationals. Here's how they reacted on Twitter.

The latest squad sees Martial out of the 23-man to meet up for international for a second time after he missed the World Cup qualifiers in November. He has struggled with form and injuries in recent seasons and saw his involvement at Old Trafford decrease forcing him to find first-team minutes with Julen Lopetegui's side.

Although his form suffered at club level, during the internationals in September, Martial played in all three of their qualifiers, scoring in the draw with Ukraine. But will remain in Spain as the time ticks down until the World Cup next winter.
