Wrexham owner and Hollywood star Rob McElhenney is set to produce a documentary centered around the Enhanced Games, a proposed sporting competition for athletes who use performance-enhancing drugs. Businessman Aron D'Souza has announced plans to host the inaugural Enhanced Games next year.
The concept of the Enhanced Games has sparked mixed reactions within the sports community. World Athletics president Sebastian Coe has strongly criticized the idea, dismissing it as 'bollocks,' while the World Anti-Doping Association has condemned it as 'dangerous and irresponsible.'
Despite the controversy, some individuals have shown interest in the competition. Former world champion Australian swimmer James Magnussen expressed willingness to 'juice to the gills' in order to participate.
McElhenney has confirmed his involvement in creating a documentary that will delve into the story behind the Enhanced Games. He expressed his excitement about partnering with RSA to bring this unique event to the screen, emphasizing the need for a thorough exploration of the competition through a docu-series format.
The Enhanced Games will feature 10 athletes in its inaugural edition. Coe has warned that any athlete taking part in the competition can expect to face significant penalties, including lengthy bans.
