Rob Havenstein was inactive for the Los Angeles Rams in Sunday’s win over the Washington Commanders, but he was apparently close to suiting up. Following the win against the Commanders, Sean McVay kept it short and sweet when asked if he expects Havenstein to suit up on Thursday night versus the New Orleans Saints.
“I think he will be back, yeah,” McVay said.
Havenstein suffered a groin injury in the overtime loss to the Baltimore Ravens in Week 14. The veteran tackle would miss his third game of the season on Sunday versus the Commanders after making 24 straight starts before he missed the Week 8 loss to the Dallas Cowboys.
Joe Noteboom replaced Havenstein at right tackle in his absence in Week 15. It will be a quick turnaround for the Rams as they are set to face the Saints on Thursday Night Football in a game that has major playoff implications with both teams boasting 7-7 records.
The return of Havenstein would certainly be welcomed against a Saints defense that just recorded seven sacks on Tommy DeVito and the New York Giants in Week 15.
