Brisbane have taken a massive step towards sealing an A-League Women finals berth with a huge 5-2 win over Perth Glory.
Perth fought back from 2-0 down to draw level before Brisbane put the foot down in the second half to seal a critical three points at Spencer Park on Friday.
The Roar remain in touch with the top two after seeing off the Glory, who are two points outside the top six and in danger of missing finals.
Alex Smith's charges sit fifth on 28 points, behind leaders Melbourne City (37), Wellington (31), Canberra (30) and Adelaide (30) and just ahead of Central Coast (26) and Melbourne Victory (25) and Perth (24).
If the Mariners and Victory both win their respective games against Canberra and Sydney FC, Perth's season is done.
The Glory tested Brisbane's Matildas goalkeeper Chloe Lincoln early without reward but it was the Roar who broke through first.
Aimee Medwin turned home a corner from Philippines international Angie Beard to draw first blood in the 20th minute.
The Roar doubled their lead 12 minutes later when Momo Hayashi, on her 31st birthday, pounced on a Glory turnover and swept home.
Perth gained a foothold in the game when Julia Sardo scored with a thumping header from a corner in first-half stoppage time.
The Glory drew level in the 49th minute when Lincoln failed to handle a Rola Badawiya cross and clawed it into her own net.
But the Roar would not be denied.
Kijah Stephenson put Brisbane back in front with a chipped effort from outside the box in the 57th minute.Â
Eight minutes later, Hayashi's deflected free kick restored a two-goal buffer.
Matildas veteran Tameka Yallop, still on the comeback trail from a serious hamstring injury, netted a lovely goal in the 95th minute to put the icing on the cake.
Brisbane next travel to face Canberra while Perth will host Victory.
