A road was shut earlier today after a woman was hit by a car.
Elbow Lane in Formby, near to Boots Pharmacy, Formby Village GP and Elbow Lane Dental Care was cordoned off by Merseyside Police officers today (Tuesday, November 22) after a woman in her 80s was hit by a car. The police force confirmed that officers received reports of a person being hit at around 11.30am.
The road was cordoned off and the woman was taken to hospital for treatment to her injuries. The injuries are not believed to be life-threatening.

The driver of the car stopped at the scene. A spokesperson told the ECHO : "We are currently in attendance following a road traffic collision between a vehicle and a pedestrian in Formby.
"We received a report at around 11.30am that a woman in her 80s had been involved in a collision with a car on Elbow Lane. The woman has been taken to hospital for treatment to her injuries, which are not thought to be life-threatening.
"The driver of the car stopped at the scene."
