A road was closed in Stapleford after the emergency services were called to reports of a building fire.
Crews from Stapleford Fire Station and Ilkeston Community Fire Station were called to the scene to the scene on Wednesday evening, February 17.
An alarm was sounding inside a commercial property and a strong smell of burning was noted.
To get into the property, crew members had to use 'breaking in equipment', thermal imaging cameras and a high-pressure hose jet.
The crews searched the building and houses along the road were checked, before a bonfire was discovered further away.
The smoke had travelled due to the high winds.
To keep firefighters safe and due to the amount of equipment that was needed to get off the fire engines, the road was closed for a short while.
But a small number of drivers chose to ignore the cordon and used the pavement to get through.
Most vehicles diverted as requested.
There were no reports of injuries and incident was closed at 10pm.
