Police have closed a road after a fire broke out above a barbers shop in South Liverpool.
Merseyside Fire and Rescue Service received a 999 call at 9.47pm on Thursday, November 3, reporting a fire on Church Road in Garston. Once three fire engines arrived at the scene five minutes later, a flat above a barbers shop was well alight.
Merseyside Police arrived at the scene shortly after and closed the road while firefighters worked to put out the blaze.

A total of four firefighters in breathing apparatus (BA) ran into the flat and used hoses to tackle the blaze. The fire was extinguished by 11.20pm and the flat is now being ventilated.
Police have placed a cordon on the pavement surrounding Joe Cummings barber shop and Mega Munch. A fire investigator was also spotted at the scene.
A spokesperson from the fire service said: "Merseyside Fire & Rescue Service is currently in attendance at a building fire in Garston, Liverpool. The utilities have been isolated to the property.
"The incident is being scaled down, however, Fire Service personnel remain at the scene to assist Merseyside Police, this is an ongoing incident, please avoid the area."
There are no reported injuries from tonight's scene.
