Fashion fans are in awe of a £20 pair of River Island heels that look so expensive, they're being compared to an £860 Bottega Veneta pair. The £20 River Island heels are being snapped up by shoppers after being reduced down from £48 in the River Island sale.
They feature a woven design akin to Bottega Veneta's £860 signature intrecciato weave raffia mules. But unlike the designer pair, River Island's won't break the bank in the middle of a cost of living crisis.
River Island's Beige Wide Fit Woven Mules have been reduced down from £48 to £20 - a saving of £28. The £20 River Island heels feature are made from woven fabric, and feature faux leather lining for a luxurious finish.
The £20 River Island woven mules feature a chain link detail and square toe, and have a comfortable heel height of 6cm. Some shoppers think the £20 River Island mules look so high end, they're comparing them to a £860 pair from premium designer Bottega Veneta.
Both pairs of the slip-on sandals have woven raffia detailing, and feature a square-shaped open toe design. The luxury Italian-made pair have a slightly higher heel, but both have the same curved shape and tan tips at the bottom of the heel - and being lower, River Island's pair may turn out more comfortable.
The £860 Bottega Veneta pair has a criss-cross twist on the woven fabric, whereas the River Island pair heels are accented instead with gold chain detailing.
Some sizes are currently out of stock on the River Island website following the mammoth reduction, says Bristol Live, but online retailer ASOS is also selling same River Island pair for £2.50 more, priced at £22.50 in the sale, with sizes 3-8 all in stock at the time of writing.
