River City fans left in stitches as producers share stars' hilarious bloopers

River City fans have been left in stitches as producers shared some of the stars' most hilarious bloopers while filming.

The short clip shared on the Scots soap's Twitter account features a whole host of names like Grant Stott who plays Sam Spiller, Jordan Young who plays gangster/hunk Alex Murdoch and Gayle Telfer Stevens, who plays landlady Caitlin McLean.

It starts with Grant appearing to be getting a grilling about radio ads on Shieldinch Radio, and seconds later a suspect noise can be heard and he ends up in hysterics.

The video also shows Jordan pestered by a fly, which you can hear buzzing about, while trying to say his lines. He looks about and says: "Sorry that fly is really annoying." The crew have to stop and they all start laughing.

The soap recently celebrated its 20th Anniversary with a special episode featuring past and present cast members.

Stephen Purdon told the Daily Record that he was "humbled" to have an episode focused on his character and admits it was emotional filming it.

The 39-year-old first arrived in Shieldinch back in 2002 as lovable rouge Bob O'Hara, dressed in a shellsuit and gold jewellery, and he is the only original cast member left.
