PRIME Minister Rishi Sunak has demoted allies of his predecessor Liz Truss and rewarded his own supporters as he ploughed on with a ministerial shake-up.

Sunak was already facing scrutiny over his decision to re-appoint Suella Braverman as Home Secretary as he tore up Truss’s growth plan and delayed the highly anticipated autumn budget.

The SNP’s Westminster leader Ian Blackford was amongst those to criticise the Prime Minister’s appointment of Braverman as Home Secretary.
