Rise of the invite-only London members' clubs you can't ever visit

No more sneaking past the club reception hoping they won’t notice your friend has cancelled her direct debit. These days, London’s most interesting members’ clubs aren’t sequestered behind doors in Mayfair or Soho, but hidden behind internet passwords and private Instagram accounts.

As Mark Zuckerberg and his metaverse will be thrilled to hear, this newest raft of clubs are virtual, requiring not so much a tie or a change of shoes, as a good Wi-Fi connection and a healthy Insta following. Across the city, they cater for a wide range of needs, from public school types looking for ‘like-minded’ souls, to would-be Musks searching for their next co-founder – either way, it’s all about finding a trusted community in the online age.
