A recent claim made by a pseudonymous user on the social platform X has sparked widespread concern and misinformation regarding voter registration practices in several states crucial to the upcoming presidential contest. The claim alleged a significant increase in voters registering without a photo ID in Texas, Pennsylvania, and Arizona, prompting reactions from public figures and officials.

However, state election officials quickly refuted the claim, stating that the user had distorted data from the Social Security Administration. Actual voter registration numbers during the cited period were much lower than what was being shared online. Despite efforts to correct the record, the false claim had already spread widely, accumulating millions of views on X.
