Riot drops Caitlyn’s 2XKO gameplay, and she’s as annoying as you think

Riot Games has finally revealed gameplay footage of the upcoming 2XKO fighter, Caitlyn Kiramman, ahead of Season 1 and console launch.

Unsurprisingly, the Sheriff of Piltover is a zoner, with some really good setup tools. She’s built around controlling neutral and keeping opponents away with traps, bola shots, and dodge rolls.

Caitlyn’s rifle is the main keepaway tool that she uses to an incredibly annoying degree, and can even aim manually, though the effects of doing so aren’t known yet. Additionally, she has what looks like a mobile riot shield that she can deploy to zone, shoot through, and even bounce enemies off of.

Despite being primarily a zoner, if her setup lands, she can convert it into some lengthy combos that deal substantial damage. And with all her keepaway tools, she’s far from useless up close and has nice mixups and escape tools.

Her supers are also more of the same shooty thing, but this time, it’s more of a “one shot – one kill variety,” with some gun-spinning showboating after the fact. And yes, by the looks of it, she can also manually aim her supers as well.

Her projectile-heavy and trap-oriented gameplay is reminiscent of several Netherrealm characters. But if we take recent games, the closest examples are JP from Capcom’s Street Fighter 6, and Eustace from Cygames’ and ArcSystem Works’ Granblue Fantasy Versus: Rising.

Design-wise, Riot Games went with her League of Legends-based look, with a tall, somewhat ridiculous-looking hat and a rifle with several lenses. However, her launch skin will make Arcane fans quite happy: she dons her special ops outfit directly from the show’s second season.

Along with Caitlyn’s release, Riot Games intends to release a balance patch that should address some meta outliers like Yasuo, Ahri, and Ekko, while simultaneously buffing weaker fighters like Braum. Early playtesters say that the latter synergizes with Caitlyn especially well, just like in the original League of Legends.

She’s set to release on Jan. 20, 2026, along with the cross-platform launch on Xbox Series X|S and PlayStation 5.
