Rio Ferdinand believes Chelsea defender Reece James has got 'everything' and has put him forward as his nominee for the young Premier League player of the season amid speculative Real Madrid transfer links.
James, 22, just like fellow teammates Antonio Rudiger and Mason Mount amongst others, has had his future thrown up in the air with many of the European elite looking to pounce on the uncertainty surrounding the Blues in relation to the current takeover talks. Part-LA Dodgers owner Todd Boehly is aiming to wrap up proceedings by May 31 and it is understood that one of his first priorities is to hand the former Wigan Athletic loanee a new and improved deal to fend off interest from abroad.
Most of that said interest has come from Real Madrid with multiple Spanish sources outlining that Carlo Ancelotti is a key figure in spurring their interest in the Chelsea man who they want to compete for the right-back slot with the experienced Daniel Carvajal. And now, as well as naming him as one of his frontrunners in the young Premier League player of the season race alongside the likes of Arsenal's Bukayo Saka and others, Ferdinand has inadvertently told Chelsea why Real Madrid would be interested in their star.
