Manchester United icon Rio Ferdinand has launched a surprising rant criticising Arsenal pair Granit Xhaka and Gabriel Magalhaes.
The Gunners have endured a rollercoaster start to 2022 after being eliminated from both the FA Cup and Carabao Cup last month before recording a crucial 1-0 win against Wolves last Thursday night.
Mikel Arteta's side now find themselves just four points behind fourth-placed Manchester United in the Premier League table but the Red Devils have played three more league matches.
Despite getting all three points at Molineux Stadium, the north Londoners played the last 20 minutes with 10 men after Gabriel Martinelli received a controversial red card for two quick-fire fouls in the same sequence of play.
That has been a recurring theme in recent times, with Arsenal receiving four red cards in their last six outings, something that Ferdinand has lambasted them for, claiming that the aforementioned Xhaka and Gabriel are worthless as they can't be relied on.
When asked on his Vibe with Five podcast whether the pair's recent red cards were down to poor discipline or being rash, he said: "Both. Lack of discipline.
"You've got to have sometimes a trigger in your mind that when you're going in for a tackle 'is this the right time or not?'
"That separates the top players a lot of the time from the okay, good players. If you can't rely on people, they're worthless. Don't have them."
Swiss international Xhaka has been sent off five times since arriving at the Emirates Stadium just under five years ago, whilst Brazilian centre-half Gabriel has received two red cards since joining just under 18 months ago.
