Former Manchester United centre-back Rio Ferdinand has admitted that he is yet to see an improvement in a single player at Old Trafford since Ralf Rangnick took temporary charge.
Rangnick, who will watch his side face Brentford at the Brentford Community Stadium on Wednesday evening, was installed as United's interim manager until the end of the season in late-November, tasked with improving results and giving United a new identity.
Despite only losing one of his opening eight games in charge, winning four, United's performances have not improved significantly enough under Rangnick so far, certainly not for the quality they have within their ranks, especially in the attacking third.
With frustrations and disappointment levels increasing, Ferdinand has admitted that he has not seen any improvements in any of United's players since the German took charge.
Ferdinand told Vibe with Five : "The manager talked in his first press conference about improving players and I am still yet to see that.
"Has he had enough time on the training ground would be his argument, I'm sure. But these players need improving because they are not doing it. Almost every player, to a man, is a shadow of his former self.
"I don't see anybody going past the levels that they were playing at before as yet. Great managers improve people, just look at what Thomas Tuchel has done at Chelsea in a short space of time. We have seen players elevate and become consistent for a sustained amount of time."
As well as United's performances, both collectively and individually, being criticised under Rangnick, the culture of the club, which remains a long-term issue, also continues to find itself under constant scrutiny.
United have long since lost the winning mentality they had under Sir Alex Ferguson and Ferdinand believes the culture the club is currently performing under will have an impact on the young players looking to make names for themselves at Old Trafford.
"With Jadon Sancho coming in, Marcus Rashford being there, Mason Greenwood coming into the squad and now Anthony Elanga coming in, although you can't put him in the same boat, he has only played a couple of games," Ferdinand continued.
"But I had it better. I went into a squad (in 2002) that knew how to win and had an established culture of what you do on a daily basis to be the best.
"They haven't got that here. This team does not know how to win. There are individuals in there that have won, such as Raphael Varane, Cristiano Ronaldo and Edinson Cavani. They have won and know how to win at other clubs.
"They haven't at Man United with this team. It is very different.
"For the young players, like Greenwood, using him as an example, coming into that squad, there isn't a culture for him to embed himself into and put his head down and follow, because there are senior players in there that don't how to create that culture yet, and haven't won yet, certainly consistently.
"I feel for them in that respect, but they have got to find a way."
