Former Manchester United Rio Ferdinand has admitted that he was impressed by Erik ten Hag's choice of words following his first official interview as United manager.
Ten Hag was officially unveiled as United's new boss at an Old Trafford press call on Monday, less than a day after watching their 1-0 defeat to Crystal Palace. Introduced to the local, national and international media, the Dutchman was not fazed by the occasion, impressing both journalists and supporters alike.
Speaking for around 20 minutes, the former Ajax boss addressed a plethora of subjects, including his plans for the summer and Cristiano Ronaldo's future at Old Trafford. He spoke comfortably and looked happy to be in the position he now finds himself in.

But although Ten Hag was happy to answer questions on various subjects during his maiden United press conference, it was comments he made during his sit-down interview with the club's in-house media department ahead of the 12pm press conference that attracted the most admiration from Ferdinand. The former defender was impressed with how he stressed that being 'good isn't good enough'.
"His comments he said about 'good isn't good enough', that's the type of language that I like to hear," Ferdinand told Vibe with Five. "He's got to get that on the training pitch.
"He wants to be a dominating and dictating team. That's what he had at Ajax.
"It's a very different make up he's coming into right now, so he's got a lot to do, a lot of work to do."
Ten Hag told United's club website : "I have high expectations from myself and that is also what I demand from my squad. They have to co-operate together and they have to give every day their best.
"And I would say, for me, good is not good enough. We have to do better."
