Ferdinand praises Ronaldo after 700th goal
Rio Ferdinand has praised Cristiano Ronaldo after he scored his 700th goal in club football during Manchester United's trip to Everton.
Ronaldo started the match at Goodison Park on the bench despite starting in midweek away at Omonia Nicosia. Erik ten Hag opted to start with a front three of Marcus Rashford, Antony and Anthony Martial against the Toffees.
However, Martial departed United's warm up early clutching his hip in the process leading to doubts as to whether he would start the match. Martial did end up starting, but he was forced off just before the half hour mark due to the injury.
