Former centre-back Rio Ferdinand believes Manchester United could raise £100million in transfer fees this summer by offloading Harry Maguire, Scott McTominay, Anthony Elanga and Anthony Martial.
United, who brought the curtain down on their Premier League campaign with a 2-1 win over Fulham on Sunday, securing third place, are likely to offload several big-name players this summer in a bid to raise transfer funds. As reported by the Manchester Evening News at the beginning of April, manager Erik ten Hag wants the club to be ruthless in shifting players out the door this summer.
United, ideally, need to offload members of their squad to raise funds in order to bring in new recruits this summer. The addition of a world-class striker is poised to top Ten Hag's list of priorities while he also wants to bring in a central-midfielder and strengthen a handful of other areas.

United's squad is awash with players who seemingly have no future at Old Trafford and need to be moved on, both for the sake of their own careers and the club's future. And for former Reds ace Ferdinand, United could make a tidy sum by selling four big-name stars, including Martial, who, as reported by the Manchester Evening News back in February, could be sold by United this summer.
"McTominay hasn't played much football, not as much as he would like," Ferdinand told the Vibe with Five podcast. "If I was him as a young player I would probably start assessing that situation and start having real hard conversations with the club [asking] 'do you see me as part of it or not?'.
"If I'm that far down the pecking order I would start looking and I don't think he will have a problem finding a club, he is a very good footballer and he can add a lot of value. Maguire has to look at a new option for himself. Unless he says he's happy to be third or fourth choice.
"Elanga maybe [is another], he is not getting a chance. Martial has proved that he can't stay fit. I think if you got rid of those four, there is a £100million sitting there.
"Elanga isn't getting the football he deserves. He did well when he came in and still isn't getting a chance. Big players in front of him but he wants to be playing first team football."
