Former Premier League legend Rio Ferdinand has indirectly slammed Chelsea manager Thomas Tuchel for his handling of club-record signing Romelu Lukaku.
Lukaku, 28, was clearly exasperated to not be used more in the most recent Premier League games against Everton and Man United and this surprise has demonstrated the strain on the relationship between the Belgian and Tuchel himself, as per the Evening Standard. The picture that circulated on social media of the striker looking rather glum after being snubbed at Goodison Park painted a thousand words and since this moment which Tuchel was questioned about at the weekend, the transfer mill has been spinning in relation to his own future.
"Because we had to take Jorgi off [at halftime], and I only had three chances," Tuchel explained on his decision to not bring Lukaku on after the 1-0 Everton loss at the weekend. Paris Saint-Germain seem to be the frontrunners in this race to secure the Red Devils international's signature on a cut-price deal as Chelsea look to recuperate around at least £60million. Bayern Munich deem this to be too much whilst the player in question himself has ruled out AC Milan and Newcastle for various reasons.
