Fans were left confused after Rihanna’s make-up brand Fenty Beauty announced it was collaborating with art collective MSCHF on a ketchup-inspired line.
MSCHF (pronounced mischief) is known for producing artworks in various formats, such as social-media channels and photographs. On their Instagram, they announced that a set titled Ketchup or Makeup will be available to purchase for $25.
Ketchup or Makeup, MSCHF’s 83rd drop, will consist of six packets filled with either (actual) ketchup or a Fenty Beauty lip gloss.
TikTokers have thankfully helped get to the bottom of what the special lipglosses will look like. @anahitaxo revealed that MSCHF and Bad Gal Riri’s creation is deep red with gold flecks of glitter, called a Gloss Bomb Hot Cherry.
But, how did fans react to the new drop?
Fans were divided, with some confused at what the prospect of a ketchup-themed make-up line could actually entail. Some shared their thoughts in the comment section of the post that dropped the news.
“It’s too early for April fools day,” one wrote.
Another said: “GIRL WE WANT MUSIC NOT KETCHUP!!”
Others questioned the price, saying “I’m sorry but who wants to spend $25 to end up getting ketchup packets.”
And another fan commented: “Weird”, with the official Fenty Beauty Instagram account replying saying, “That’s how we like it”.
Over on Twitter, some fans thought it was fake news.
While others expressed their love for the idea.
