Rihanna and A$AP Rocky hosted a rave-themed baby shower shortly before rumours about the rapper messaging a British mum began circulating.
The couple announced they were expecting their first child with a chic photoshoot in New York back in January, but have since been rocked by reports the rapper, 33, has been in contact with another woman behind Rihanna ’s back.
On Friday, the Umbrella hitmaker attended the colourful baby shower at a studio in Hollywood, and guests were asked to wear bright neon outfits for the occasion.
Those who attended the bash were asked to lock their phones into pouches on arrival, as no filming or photography were allowed, according to Hip Hollywood .
It was originally thought that the baby shower had been cancelled due to Rocky’s arrest, but the party went ahead as planned, with guests given cute gifts as they left the bash, which was dubbed a “rave shower”.
T-shirts were handed out, which featured the couple as children on the front with the words: “Rih and Rocky Rave Shower” on the front, and one the back: “I Went To Rih & Rocky’s Rave Shower And All I Got Was This Amazing Shirt.”
There was also no gift registry, as Rihanna and Rocky were just overjoyed to be celebrating their baby’s arrival with their loved ones.
The singer, who has been wowing fans with her pregnancy style, rocked a huge fur hat for the baby shower, and many of her family and friends flew over from Barbados to attend the bash.
The event was held just hours before reports emerged that Rocky had been in contact with a British woman, when Rihanna was around four months pregnant.
Mum-of-three Jilly O’Donnell, who lives in Devon, told The Sun she had received messages from the rapper in December, and he even offered to fly her to Ukraine to meet him.
The paddleboarding instructor, who has a 22-year-old son and two daughters aged 19 and 17, said her children had to tell her who he was.
Jilly admitted she was flattered by the attention, but said: “I know what he’d have been after if I had flown out there but it was all just a bit of a laugh.”
The messages fizzled out, and she said she hopes Rihanna and Rocky will “be very happy together.”
