Nottinghamshire Live readers have expressed their relief after Center Parcs reversed its decision to kick guests out on the day of the Queen's funeral. The Nottinghamshire-based company initially announced its holiday villages would be closing for the bank holiday on Monday, September 19 - meaning guests booked in to stay on the Monday and past this date would have to leave and then return.
However, after widespread criticism, Center Parcs announced a U-turn - and visitors at its five sites, including in Sherwood Forest, will now be able to stay on Monday but not use many facilities. Reacting to the news on Facebook, Laura Musson said it was the right decision.
"I think this is the right decision, those arriving on Monday come on Tuesday and those already there stay but with no facilities open!" Lynne Broughton added: "I should think so. They paid to go on holiday."
