Rangers have tabled a £4million package to land Ridvan Yilmaz from Besiktas, according to a report.
Record Sport revealed that the left-back has been on the Ibrox club's radar for some time, but the position has become more of a priority since Calvin Bassey completed his £19million switch to Ajax, landing the Rangers a club record fee in the process. The 21-year-old has turned heads during his time with the Turkish giants but only has one year remaining on his contract in Istanbul.
And now the Daily Mail state Gio Van Bronckhorst has made his move to bring in the Turkish international with a package worth around £4million put on the table. However Besiktas are sticking to their £6million valuation as it stands, leaving the clubs at a stalemate with the report suggesting Rangers have told the Istanbul club they must lower their asking price for the full-back to do a deal.
Recruiting a new left-back has moved to the top of the Ibrox priority list following the departure of Bassey. Borna Barisic is the only experienced option in the squad, with youngster Adam Devine featuring during pre-season.
New signing Ben Davies is a left-sided centre back, but can also play one over at full back. However, it is not the natural position for the £3million Liverpool recruit.
