Ridvan Yilmaz to Rangers transfer fee revealed as Besiktas announce how much Light Blues paid

Rangers have paid Besiktas a guaranteed fee of £3.3 million pounds alongside a 'contingent' sum of £1.9 million for left-back Ridvan Yilmaz.

The 21-year-old's move to Ibrox also holds a 20% sell on for the Super Lig club if Rangers decide to move him on over the course of his five-year contract. Light Blues boss Giovanni van Bronckhorst has been seeking a left-back replacement for Calvin Bassey after his move to Ajax and up to £5.2 million is what his club will pay to get one. Yilmaz has been capped six times by Turkey and has made over 60 Besiktas appearances.

They confirmed the fee in a statement: "About the final transfer of our professional football player Rıdvan Yılmaz to Rangers FC Club; It has been agreed that a guarantee fee of 4,000,000 Euros, a contingent fee of 2,250,000 Euros, and 20% of the net transfer income will be paid to our company in the event that the player is leased to another club while his contract with Rangers FC is still in effect.”

Sporting director Ross Wilson said of the capture: "Gio and I were clear in our desire to invest in a high-potential and high-quality left back.

"We have now secured that in the signing of Ridvan Yilmaz. He’s a talented young player who has been coveted throughout Europe following outstanding performances for Besiktas.

"We also know how highly regarded he is in the Turkish National Team. This is another exciting young player to join our squad, and we are delighted to bring Ridvan to Rangers.”
