Gladiator II

Paul Mescal and Denzel Washington are set to captivate audiences in the upcoming historical drama Gladiator II, directed by Ridley Scott. The film, a sequel to the 2000 epic Gladiator, is scheduled for release by Paramount Pictures on Nov. 22.

Starring Mescal, Pedro Pascal, Denzel Washington, Joseph Quinn, and Connie Nielsen, Gladiator II takes place several decades after the events of its predecessor in ancient Rome. The story follows Lucius (Mescal), the grandson of former Roman emperor Marcus Aurelius and the son of Emperor Commodus, who finds himself in slavery after a Roman invasion led by General Marcus Acacius. Inspired by Maximus from the original Gladiator, Lucius embarks on a journey as a gladiator.
