And other stories from the stranger side of life
An all-you-can-eat restaurant in China has had to close after just two weeks due to a “ridiculously generous” loyalty deal, said The Mirror. Jiamener had more than 500 customers a day but the owner struggled to turn a profit as he was offering a $25 loyalty card for unlimited food for a month. Customers “took full advantage of this incredible offer”, said the paper, with some loyalty card holders apparently passing their cards onto family and friends. The restaurant was soon in more than $100,000 worth of debt.
Man bans girlfriend from farting
A man banned his partner from farting in the house because he felt it is “unladylike”. Writing on the Reddit forum, a woman revealed that a huge argument arose with her boyfriend after she broke wind in the kitchen. “I feel like I should be able to fart in my own home without judgement,” she said. “Ah, women, we can finally vote, pay taxes, and purchase properties”, said LadBible, “but my god, some men can’t deal when you let out a little backdoor breeze”.
Missing dog shows up after two years
A missing dog has returned and fallen asleep in her owner’s lap after two years. In March 2021, Lydia Rampin turned her back on her eight-month old dog for one fateful minute. “One minute she was with me outside and then the next minute I called her and she didn’t come,” she said. Recently, a man who nearly ran over a dog took her to a vet, leading to her being reunited with her owner. “She has definitely been cared for”, Rampin told The Times. “She’s a bit on the thin side, she needed a bath, but she wasn’t afraid to come in the house.”
