Ricky Hatton boxing comeback vs Marco Antonio Barrera rescheduled after postponement

Ricky Hatton will fight Marco Antonio Barrera at the Manchester Arena on November 12th after their original exhibition was postponed after Hughie Fury's, Tyson Fury's cousin, bout with Michael Hunter was cancelled due to the former falling ill.

The Hitman had lost three stone in two months in preparation for the fight initially scheduled for July. He will now need to wait until the penultimate month of the year to fight the legendary Mexican.

Although the 43-year-old insisted, previously, that the fight was not the start of a comeback. The event at the Manchester Arena in November will also have no decision.

"I like pints of beer, it has been well known, but you can't do that," Hatton told British Boxing TV speaking on his weight-loss transformation. "I think that is the main thing with the weight.

"If you go out and have pints seven days a week you won't be walking around with a six pack. I think it is just sensible, eating the right things small and often and regular workouts.

"Some days I have thought 'can I have a rest day?' and then I have thought I will take my foot down on the pace and go for a run to keep a sweat on.

"I do two workouts a day so my metabolism is always racing. Cut it down on treats, I have 12 cups of tea a day normally but it has to just be a one-off. I think the best thing is the willpower, and a nutritionist is only good as the lad that advises him and I think it is all down to your own personal discipline."
