The World Cup has finally arrived! Qatar face Ecuador on Sunday evening to start what promises to be an exciting tournament.
Several Tottenham stars have travelled to Qatar with their respective nations hoping to return to north London having lifted the FIFA World Cup Trophy. Harry Kane, Son Heung-min and Ivan Perisic are among the Spurs players Antonio Conte will be keeping a close eye on in the coming weeks.
With that being said, football.london takes a look at the Tottenham players who have been called up for the 2022 World Cup, as well as those who have been left behind.

Confirmed to be going
Goalkeepers: Hugo Lloris (France)
Defenders: Eric Dier (England), Ben Davies (Wales), Joe Rodon (Wales)
Midfielders: Pierre-Emile Hojbjerg (Denmark), Rodrigo Bentancur (Uruguay), Pape Matar Sarr (Senegal)
Forwards: Richarlison (Brazil), Ivan Perisic (Croatia), Son Heung-min (South Korea), Harry Kane (England)
Despite a calf injury keeping out of action for Spurs at the moment, Richarlison was named in Tite's final Brazil squad. There was some initial fear his World Cup hopes would be over after being substituted against Frankfurt with a similar calf injury that kept him out for a considerable amount of time last season with Everton.
The 25-year-old has some tough competition for places in the Brazil attack with Neymar and Vinicius Jr likely starters, meaning it could be a three-way shoot-out between Richarlison and Arsenal's Gabriel Jesus and Gabriel Martinelli for a starting place.
Hojbjerg has been confirmed in Denmark's squad for the trip to Qatar. He will be hoping for a starting role alongside former Spurs star Christian Eriksen, with the Danes facing one of the favourites for the tournament in Hugo Lloris' France, as well as games against Australia and Tunisia.
Perisic has been included in Croatia's World Cup squad. The Tottenham star will join up with the likes of Real Madrid's Luka Modric and Chelsea's Mateo Kovacic as the 2016 finalists aim to make another deep run in the competition. As a stalwart of his country, Perisic's inclusion is unsurprising. However, he has been listed as a forward despite playing most of his football in north London as a left-wing back.
Meanwhile, South Korea's captain Son has travelled to Qatar despite recently undergoing eye surgery. The forward was forced to withdraw in the first-half of Tottenham's crucial 2-1 UEFA Champions League win over Marseille earlier this month with what was later discovered to be a fractured eye. Providing he doesn't pick up further injury before the start of the competition, he will be leading his team out against Uruguay on November 24.
After a very consistent 2021/22 season in the middle of Spurs' back three, Dier earned another well-deserved call up to the England squad. He has struggled at times since then with Spurs making several defensive errors in the past few months but he's still held down a role in the squad. Unsurprisingly, England captain Harry Kane was also picked by Southgate.
Perhaps Spurs' player of the season so far, Rodrigo Bentancur, has also been called up by Uruguay where he will play alongside Barcelona's Ronald Araujo and Liverpool's Darwin Nunez. The midfielder has one goal in 51 games for his country but has already scored five times for Spurs this season.
Pape Matar Sarr travels despite only playing 66 minutes of football in all competitions this season. The midfielder has also largely struggled to get onto the bench too but has played 10 times already for his country.
Elsewhere, Ben Davies and Joe Rodon have been called up to the Wales squad. Of course, Rob Page's side are in the same group as England, which means both Davies and Rodon will be tasked with keeping Spurs striker Kane quiet on Tuesday, November 29.
Definitely not going
Defenders: Ryan Sessegnon (England)
Midfielders: Yves Bissouma (Mali)
Forwards: Dejan Kulusevski (Sweden)
With Sweden losing their World Cup play-off against Poland earlier this year, Kulusevski will not be at the Qatar 2022 World Cup. While it's likely to be disappointing for the 22-year-old, it is undoubtedly a positive for Spurs.
Kulusevski returned to action in the 2-1 home defeat to Liverpool after missing the last ten games with a hamstring injury picked up with Sweden, but the six-week pause will allow him to get back up to speed.
The same can also be said for Bissouma as Mali will not be present at the World Cup and after recent impressive performances from the former Brighton man, more time working on the tactical aspects of the system Conte wants him to play in is surely set to only be a positive.
The unfortunate hamstring injury to Ben Chilwell perhaps increased the likelihood of Sessegnon being named in England's World Cup squad. Despite this, the 22-year-old was not selected.
