Richard Simmons Rejects Pauly Shore Biopic, Plans Own Film

Richard Simmons

Richard Simmons has made it clear that he does not approve of the upcoming biopic starring Pauly Shore. Simmons expressed his disapproval in a statement, indicating that major studios are interested in collaborating with him on telling his own story. He humorously suggested Tom Cruise to play him in his own biopic.

Simmons' comments came after it was reported that Jordan Allen-Dutton was set to write the script for the biopic, which currently lacks a title and specific details. Shore, who is slated to play Simmons in the film, expressed his disappointment at Simmons' disapproval, offering to pitch the idea in person.

Simmons, on the other hand, announced that he has received multiple offers from studios to work on his own biopic. He mentioned that he is currently outlining his ideas for the project.

In January, it was revealed that Shore would portray Simmons in the feature film after viral memes highlighted their similar appearance. Shore had reached out to Simmons about the role, aiming to make the biopic a reality.

Simmons, in a Facebook post, expressed his desire to be part of a film that showcases his life. Earlier in the year, he disclosed his battle with skin cancer, reassuring fans that he is not dying and that his post was meant to be inspirational.

Shore believes that a Richard Simmons biopic would bring positivity and unity, emphasizing Simmons' impact on helping people and spreading joy. He sees the film as an opportunity to share their shared flamboyant and over-the-top personalities.

Simmons' journey with his health and the public attention surrounding the biopic have sparked discussions among fans and the media. Despite the differing opinions on the biopic, both Simmons and Shore are eager to share their perspectives and stories through the cinematic medium.
