Skip Bayless brought up some bizarre unwritten locker room rules on Wednesday’s episode of Undisputed that raised plenty of eyebrows on set.
Bayless seemingly took issue with Cowboys star Micah Parsons’ praise of 49ers quarterback Brock Purdy, specifically the fact that Parsons labeled Purdy a top 15 QB in the NFL. His take: The Cowboys’ postseason struggles with the 49ers makes it an unwritten rule not to overly praise Niners players.
“Micah Parsons has a nemesis every year called the San Francisco 49ers,” Bayless said. “I have no problem with what Micah said about Brock Purdy because he’s just dead-on right… but you play for the Cowboys, whose quarterback is Dak Prescott, who is on a hot seat in Dallas right now. There’s an unwritten rule here, a locker room rule here, that you don’t rave about the quarterback of your archrival and nemesis! You just don’t do it.”

Co-hosts Keyshawn Johnson and Richard Sherman seemed flabbergasted by the so-called unwritten rule. They both chimed in to ask who wrote that rule before Bayless responded that the rule was “age-old.” Meanwhile, Sherman’s confused face as Bayless explains locker room etiquette to two former players who spent a combined 22 years in the NFL is priceless.
We’re all still waiting for evidence of this rule. Either way, it was a hilarious moment for Bayless’ new show at his own expense.
