A “landmark” southwest London home said to have helped inspire two of the world’s most celebrated modern buildings has been given to the National Trust.
The Grade II* listed house at 22 Parkside, Wimbledon, is regarded as one of the most “significant homes in British architectural history” and an early expression of ideas that would later shape the Centre Pompidou in Paris and Lloyd’s of London.
