Richard Illingworth, Ruchira Palliyaguru to officiate in India-Pakistan Asia Cup tie

MUMBAI: England's Richard Illingworth and Sri Lanka's Ruchira Palliyaguruge will be the on-field umpires for the big-ticket India versus Pakistan Asia Cup clash at Pallekele on September 2.

Former Australia pacer Paul Wilson will be the TV umpire, while ex-India fast bowler Javagal Srinath will be the match referee for the game.

India's J Madangopal will be one of the on-field umpires for the Bangladesh versus Sri Lanka clash in Pallekele on August 31, with Srinath being the match referee.

Former Australia pacer Paul Wilson and Palliyaguruge will be the on-field umpires for India's next Asia Cup clash, against Nepal on September 4.

The Asia Cup will kick off on August 30, with Pakistan taking on Nepal at Multan. Chris Gaffaney and Masudur Rahman will be the on-field umpires for that game, while former Australian opener David Boon will be the match referee.
