Richard Agar on James Bentley red card, Richie Myler injury and David Fusitu'a tackle going unpunished

Richard Agar spoke to the press following Leeds Rhinos' defeat to Warrington Wolves.

Here's what he had to say.

General thoughts

A tough loss. The boys are hurting, I've just said on camera there I thought we dominated it for large parts with 12 men, I thought we dominated with 11 and unfortunately the 11 and 12 men caught up with us right at the death. I felt we deserved something out of the game, I felt an awful lot went against us and our boys tried tremendously hard right to the death to ride it out, I'm proud of the effort. A couple of times we didn't turn the ball over on our times as we could have done, there were two or three in the second half spring to mind when we needed to turn the ball over in a controlled fashion and we didn't do that. When we did, our defensive line did some magnificent stuff, but eventually the numbers game told on us unfortunately.

The card incidents

Clearly, I am not going to say too much. Ben Currie knocked David Fusitu'a out and we don't get a penalty, that's the only one I'll comment on.

I'm about to comment on another one but I've no argument with Bentos (James Bentley), he's hit him in the head with a high shot and with the current directives we can expect that.

Why Fusitu'a stayed on the field

That's something for our medical department that I'll get to the bottom off after. I would disagree at the time as clearly they thought he was right. I thought it was surprising that straight after taking a hit we went straight down the channel, I thought that was a pretty dumb play on our part, that was a real error of judgement. He got hit in the head and got no reward from it. We'll have to see (if he's fit next week).

Richie Myler

Again, it's early days but he wasn't good enough to continue today, We'll have a fair few selection issues. It was his groin.

How close was Harry Newman

We'll see, day-by-day, week-by-week, he's feeling good and he's pushing us but we have to be careful with it.

The fans

They did their utmost to make up for that number. It was really noticeable and they were magnificent throughout. It was a fantastic atmosphere, it was a pulsating game and I'm sure the drama and excitement came across real well.
